IT equipment refurbishment and repair services
A broken device shouldn't mean a new one. A returned device shouldn't sit in a drawer. Send a repair request. Workwize coordinates diagnosis, repair, and return - or refurbishes and redeploys the device so you get full value out of every asset.
See how our customers stopped losing hardware at offboarding.
“ Before Workwize, managing IT hardware for global hires was time-consuming, error-prone, and expensive. We had delays, lost equipment, and billing discrepancies across the board. ”
“ We have about 1,300 employees in different countries across Europe. It is critical that we have enough inventory to supply new hires starting at Swapfiets. We also need to make sure we can retrieve those devices after offboarding. Those are two major processes we were able to streamline with Workwize.”
Replacing devices you could have repaired is one of the most common IT budget leaks.

Questions IT teams ask
What is the IT asset refurbishment logistics process?
The logistics run in five steps. Retrieval: the device is collected from the employee or office and shipped to a local warehouse. Intake: contents are checked against expectations and the device is inspected and condition-graded. Data sanitization: a certified wipe, logged against the serial number. Refurbishment: cleaning, repairs where economical, and re-imaging or re-enrollment to your standard configuration. Redeployment or resale: the device returns to stock for the next hire, or is remarketed if it's leaving the fleet. On Workwize this is one tracked workflow, the device never leaves the audit trail between uses.
Are device refurbishment and redeployment services worth it?
Usually, yes, the economics are straightforward. A returned laptop that's wiped, refurbished, and redeployed replaces a new purchase, so each redeployment saves most of a device's replacement cost, plus shipping, plus the embodied CO2 of manufacturing new hardware. The honest exceptions: devices too old for your minimum spec, models with negligible residual value, and fleets so small that returns rarely coincide with hires. For most growing companies, refurbishment plus a resale route for the remainder beats buying new every time.
Does Workwize refurbish and re-image returned devices so we can redeploy them to new hires?
Yes, that loop is built in. Returned devices arrive at a local warehouse, get a certified wipe and condition grading, are refurbished and re-imaged (or re-enrolled through your MDM) to your standard setup, and go into your stock ready to ship to the next hire. Devices below your redeployment bar route to resale or recycling instead.
Can you refurbish and get top resale value on returned devices, including Apple hardware?
Yes. Returned devices are inspected, graded, and data-wiped, then valued and remarketed through an ITAD partner to recover their fair market value, with net proceeds credited to you. Apple hardware is included and generally holds strong resale value. Devices need to be unlocked with MDM removed to be resold as functional units, and the team reloads the OS before sale. You approve the valuation before any device is sold.
When a device needs a repair or swap-out, can you handle the exchange without us duplicating effort and paying twice?
Workwize manages the repair and any swap-out end-to-end, so your team isn't coordinating it twice. You can request a replacement device through the same repair flow to keep the employee working, and the original is repaired and returned to your warehouse stock for reuse rather than written off. The replacement is treated as a standard order, so there is a cost, but the repaired unit re-enters rotation to offset it.
Do you provide loaner or next-day replacement devices while a laptop is being repaired?
Yes. When a device goes in for repair, Workwize can issue a loaner so the employee keeps working while the original is fixed. This happens in Step 2 of the repair workflow, alongside routing for in-warranty and out-of-warranty repairs through Workwize's partner network. Loaners are provided where required, so confirm exact eligibility with your account team.
Can one platform handle repairs, refurbishment, and asset tracking together?
Yes. Workwize runs repairs, refurbishment, and redeployment as one tracked workflow instead of separate tools. Repair requests, in-warranty and out-of-warranty routing, refurbishment grading, certified data erasure, and redeployment or resale are logged against the same device record, so IT has one system of record from the first repair ticket to the asset's next deployment.
How do you handle IT asset repair requests from remote employees?
Remote employees submit repair requests directly through the Workwize portal or Slack integration, with full device history visible to IT. Workwize determines whether the issue is in-warranty or out-of-warranty and routes it to the manufacturer or an authorised repair partner in that employee's region, so repairs don't depend on IT shipping the device internationally first.
Do you support both new and refurbished devices for budget-conscious fleets?
Yes. Workwize lets you mix new procurement with refurbished, redeployed devices in the same fleet, so budget-conscious teams aren't limited to buying new every time. Devices returned from offboarding are graded, refurbished, and re-enrolled in MDM before redeployment; only devices beyond that bar get replaced with new hardware, keeping cost per deployment down.
